History
The soccer club was originally formed in the early 1980s as
the Greater Gull Lake United Soccer Club. It represented the
school districts of Comstock, Climax-Scotts, Delton Kellogg,
Galesburg-Augusta, and Gull Lake.
At the Annual meeting of December 1989 the club name was
changed to the "River Oaks Soccer Club" (ROSC) to better
represent all of the school districts.
Location
ROSC uses the soccer fields at the River Oaks County Park
(one of five Kalamazoo County parks) located at 9202 East
Michigan (M-96), Galesburg, Michigan. River Oaks sits on
270 acres of land between Comstock and Galesburg on the
shores of Morrow Lake.

soccer complex.
Either a daily or annual vehicle pass is required for
entrance to the park.
Additional information is available at the
Kalamazoo County Parks website.
Purpose and Philosophy
The purpose of the ROSC is to provide an opportunity
for selected youth soccer players to participate in
competitive age group leagues to enhance their playing
skills. The ROSC shall not intentionally interfere with
and shall actively support recreational and/or
developmental programs operating within the community.
The philosophy of the River Oaks Soccer Club shall be
to train and develop young people in the game of soccer
through competition and in cooperation with various
community programs.
Membership
ROSC membership is open to students in Comstock,
Climax-Scotts, Delton Kellogg, Galesburg-Augusta,
Gull Lake, and surrounding areas.
Currently we have approximately 200 players in 15 soccer
teams.
